Here is a Christmas list of things Charlie would like for Christmas (in my opinion). There are also some items that would help him in the story. I think he would like;
1.A pair of new binoculars, so that he could see things close up instead of the spyglass, though he would probably keep the spyglass anyways, because it is special to him.
2.A new war helmet, because the one he had to wear had a bullet hole in it.
3.A "Learn to Speak French" CD so that next time he goes to ask for "lapin", he'll actually get bread!
4. A new computer to play his "Learn to Speak French" CD on, and to play games on and do school work on.
5.A new camera to take pictures of the war so that his family knows what its like, and then to take pictures of the beautiful scenery when he sails the world.
6.His own personal bodyguard so that next time Clint and Phil come to pick on him, he'll have his body guard to protect him.
7.A cookbook so that he could try different foods, other than his mother's figgy duff!
8.A new joke book, because Charlie is a little "rascal", like his father always says, and he could amuse all his family and friends!
9.A chart of the ocean so that he won't get lost when he sails around the world.
10.Hand warmers and foot warmers, to keep his hands and feet toasty warm if he still decides he wants to go to the ice.

P.S check back soon for an interview of Charlie and Claire!
Here is an interview of Charlie and Claire, in the future (well, future for them, present for us!), and, for those of you who are confused, well, I don't want to spoil it so I'll explain at the bottom!
The Book Cover
Sarah-“Hello! And welcome to: The book Cover! Today we are going to be interviewing Charlie and Claire Wilcox, from the novel “Charlie Wilcox”! The novel is about a 14 year old boy living in Brigus, Newfoundland named Charlie Wilcox. Charlie’s lifelong dream is to go sealing, but his parents say it’s too dangerous, especially because he is born with a club foot. After he has his club foot fixed, he thinks there’s nothing to stop him from going to the ice. But when he stows away on a boat he thinks is going to the ice, he ends up in England, destined for World War one. Oh! Here’s Charlie and his lovely wife Claire, who actually used to work for Charlie’s mother, Lucy.”
Sarah-“So how did you feel when you saw Clint at the dock when you ran away from Aunt Maude, trying to get to the ice?”
Charlie-“Why, I wish I’d had a piece of me mother’s hard tack, that I did! I’d a thrown it at’im! But I knew I had had to keep my head, ‘else we’d both be thrown off the dock! And when he’d bargained to lock me in that crate, I saw there was somethin’ up in that bloody beggar’s face! I shouldn’t ‘a listened to him, but in a way, I’m glad. Heck, I never would ‘a seen Mac, er saved Martin.”
Sarah-“I see. Now Claire, what did you think when you heard that Charlie had run away from his Aunt Maude’s to go to the ice?”
Claire-“I thought he was wasting a great opportunity. What I would’t ‘a given to go to college. My parents didn’t have enough money to send me. Charlie was lucky to have parents who could afford it. I was worried about Charlie too, but somehow, my heart was telling me things were going to turn out okay.”
Sarah-“Well, it must’ve been very nerve racking for you, and the whole family. Now I have a question for Charlie – how did you feel when you found out the ship you’d stowed away on was headed to war in England?”
Charlie-“Well, the first thing goin’ through my head was “What will my mother think?” Then I remembered what my Aunt Maude said about the soldiers: “I expect they won’t see much action…” so I wasn’t too worried!”
Sarah-“So I guess you were pretty surprised when you saw what the war was really like, weren’t you?”
Charlie-“Oh, yes, I couldn’t believe my own two eyes. I couldn’t believe they would do this to people! The harsh conditions weren’t even fit for pigs! I wanted to drag those colonels out of their wall-papered offices and out to the front lines! See how they’d like that?”
Sarah-“So when you were in the ambulance with Martin, and you had a chance to get away from the war, why did you turn back? Did the spyglass you’d forgotten really mean that much?”
Charlie-“It just seemed to be the right thing to do at the time. The spyglass was the only reason I was gettin’ the chance to go home, and the only reason Martin was alive. So it seemed like I had to go back to get it.”
Sarah-“But you could’ve just left it there, and then gone home right away?”
Charlie-“No way! I could never’ve done that, not after what the spyglass did for me.”
Sarah-“Wow! Now Claire, what was it like when Lily Mackenzie (nurse Mac) came to your house, before she had the baby and after?”
Claire-“Well, at first I was a bit jealous because Charlie was meeting other women, and then I was even more jealous because she was getting all the attention. Soon I spent more time with her, and I actually started to like her, especially after she had the baby. That baby was so cute, I decided I wanted one just like it. Eventually Charlie and I were able to have a baby of our own.”
Sarah-“Yes I see how you feel. So, Charlie, how did you feel when you first heard about Lily’s baby being born?”
Charlie-“Well, I was as happy as if it had been my own child being born. I got this warm fuzzy feelin’, especially after when I found out I was the godfather! I practically jumped for joy.”
Sarah-“How about Dr. Daniels, how did he feel?”
Charlie-“He was doin’ surgery on some brown-haired boy when I raced down to tell him. He yelled so loud, the other medics thought we’d lost the boy! I was a little jealous of him, he bein’ the father an’ all, though.”
Sarah-“Interesting, so, can you give me a short summary about what happened to you after the book finished? We’re almost out of time, this is the last question, I promise.”
Charlie-“Well, after I got home, I married Claire, and soon after that my father died. That was a rough time. One year later we had our little girl, Lilian, which we named after nurse Lily Mackenzie (Nurse Mac). Eventually, she grew up and went to college. Oh Yeah, after I came home, I went to work at St John’s hospital, where I met nurse Mac. There isn’t really much exciting that happened after that.
Sarah-“I thank you Charlie and Claire, we’re out of time for tonight but we’ll see you next time on “The Book Cover.”
Yes I know, you're all saying; but Sarah, what's the thing you were going to tell us? I get it! But, for those of you who might be a little confused as to the subject of Charlie and Claire's relationship, they are married! Thanks for reading!
